Connecting with Lehbab Communities through RTA’s Customer Council
Recently, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA Dubai) organized a Customer Council with the citizens of Lehbab and the surrounding communities. The meeting emphasized the need to ensure that the Authority is engaged in the community and responsive in terms of transport planning. It provided a local community with an opportunity to address the leaders of RTA directly and bring up concerns, recommendations, and expectations regarding the road infrastructure and mobility services at their community. Through this open communication, RTA will enhance its relationship with the population and make its transport policy responsive to the actual needs of the communities.
Reviewing Road Infrastructure Developments and Traffic Flow Initiatives
The RTA provided present and past road-development projects in Lehbab and the areas around the city, during the session, with the aim of improving the accessibility level, safety, and the general quality of life to the residents. As it was mentioned in the presentation, new internal residential roads and lighting works have recently been completed, which are part of larger infrastructure improvements in underserved areas. The upgrades are especially appreciated by the people living in developing or suburban areas, as advanced road connectivity and street lighting significantly enhance the day-to-day movement and safety, especially during the dark time. With such efforts, the RTA has shown its efforts to increase road facilities that will suit the increasing urban and rural populations in Dubai.
Opening Channels for Resident Feedback and Custom Requests
The overall aim of the Customer Council session was to establish a direct communication channel between residents and RTA officials.
The participants were encouraged to give suggestions on issues like additional road pavement, addition of more street lights and internal street connectivity in the Lehbab district. RTA received this feedback and promised to leave open all the possible follow-up channels as well as to seek comprehensive resolutions wherever possible.
Such open communication fosters trust and enables RTA to focus on the projects that can really meet the needs that the communities have expressed and not based on assumptions.
Highlighting Temporary Support through RTA’s Tareej Service
In the meeting, RTA launched the TareejService which is a road-maintenance project which provides short term solutions to road issues. The service can be accessed via the RTA Dubai app: one has to select an option of the language they want to use, then tap the Mahboub icon, select temporary road, and place an order. Despite being prioritised on the villa-dwelling Emirati citizens, the service is open to all the residents and businesses located in the city of Dubai. RTA is flexible and responsive offering on-demand support channels to accommodate urgent road issues as long-term developments continue.
Strengthening Community Trust and Future Collaboration
The Lehbab session belongs to a bigger Customer Council outreach program, which takes into account the whole of Dubai. It aims at increasing community engagement in transport infrastructure planning and provision. The RTA considers these meetings necessary to understand customer expectations, receive the feedback on the grassroots level, and enhance the overall standard of the transport system.
The people living in Lehbab, and other such places are convinced that their voices are heard. Transport development is not merely a top-down process; it incorporates actual input of the community.
Conclusion: Inclusive Infrastructure Planning for a Connected Dubai
The latest Customer Council meeting between RTA and residents of Lehbab points to the fact that better transport services and urban development can be formed under the influence of community involvement. Through the assessment of completed road projects, the introduction of the services supporting the maintenance (such as TareejService), and the engagement of the residents in the further refinement, RTA supports its mission of providing safe, convenient, and thought-out mobility in Dubai.
This session is not just a meeting, but an extension of an ongoing promise to cooperation, openness and metropolitan excellence to the residents and stakeholders. The invitation of the communities by RTA implies that the transport planning in Dubai remains a collective activity, which is based on the needs of the population and the voices of the locals.
In case you are in Lehbab or other places and want to provide feedback or order a service, take an opportunity to contact RTA Dubai via the app or Customer Council.
